Your occupation  or work experience is a very important  factor in your assessing your application. You can get a maximum of 21 points depending on your work experience. Your application for an immigrant visa will be assessed on your qualifications, skills and experience in the occupation you intend to follow in Canada.

For you to qualify under the skilled worker immigration, you must meet the following minimum work experience requirements:

  • You must have at least one year of  paid full-time work experience.
  • Your occupation or work experience must be in the category of Skill Type 0, or Skill Level A or B on the Canadian National Occupational Classification (NOC).
  • You must have had this work experience within the last 10 years before you file your application.

To find out your work experience equivalent in Canada, you need to use the National Occupation Classification or NOC issued by the government of Canada. Click here to go Chapter 9.
